Note: This guide is intended for iOS devices where TPControl app settings are accessed and configured within the Settings app of the iOS device. As Android & Windows TPControl require you to launch the app to access settings, you will likely be unable to access settings if the app is force closing on launch. If you can launch the app, but still have trouble loading the UI file (ie. black screen is shown), then follow this guide to see if it helps recover the loaded UI file.
In the case that TPControl is force closing on launch, there may be a data corruption in the touch panel file. In some instances, reprocessing the UI file will fix the issue. If reprocessing the UI doesn't fix the issue, Then you may need to clear the UI file and reload it. If reprocessing or reloading the UI file doesn't work, it may be an issue with the app installation and will require reinstallation of TPControl.
Ensure that you record the Token for the affected device before proceeding in the event you need to reinstall TPControl.
Now, please try the following:
1. Turn on the 'Reprocess TP4 file' option in within 'Settings>TPControl>Developer Settings>UI File options' on the device. relaunch TPControl and when prompted by 'Settings were changed' press OK.
If you still have trouble, there is likely an on-device data corruption which may require uninstalling/reinstalling TPControl. However, before doing so please confirm that you have the TOKEN value and that all relevant Settings and TP4 file information is available for the device. This information, if not already, can and should be configured within TPCloud (http://tpcloud.touchpanelcontrol.com) for the TOKEN value. Once this has been done, move on to option 2.
2. Turn on the 'Clear User Pages' option in within 'Settings > TPControl > Developer Settings'. This removes the UI file, meaning that the UI file will need to be reinstalled.
If the Settings and UI file for the token registered to the device have been configured and enabled within our online TPCloud service, then this greatly simplifies the restoration process, enabling all information needed by TPControl to be restored without needing to attend site (assuming your device can access the Internet).
After clearing, turn on the 'TPCloud update' option available in 'Settings > TPControl' on the device, relaunch TPControl and when prompted by 'Settings were changed' press OK. The device will download relevant information from TPCloud as configured. If the UI file and settings are not configured on the token in TPCloud, you will need to reload the UI file using TPTransfer
If after the update you still are having trouble with TPControl force closing, then it is likely an application corruption has occurred, in which case you will need to reinstall TPControl.
