When the device Wi-Fi symbol is NOT showing
Platform: iOS, Android, Windows 8/RT:
99% of iOS devices with Wi-Fi issues are resolved with this solution. The issue more commonly arises for devices with STATIC IP assignments.

NOTE: People with some tech-savvy often report that the iOS device can be ping’ed and can browse to the NetLinx master using the device built-in browser (Safari). However, that alone does NOT ensure network connectivity for iOS devices.

STEP 1
Ensure that the Wi-Fi connection is paired with the Network that provides access to the AMX NetLinx master.
iOS devices: A tick symbol in 'Settings -> WiFi' on the device indicates the device is paired with a Network.
Android and Windows 8/RT: Wi-Fi connectivity will be indicated within the device network settings or status|charm-bar

STEP 2 iOS devices only
Ensure that the Wi-Fi symbol is showing in the top-left status-bar for the device (next to the "iPhone"/"iPod"/"iPad" label).
When the Wi-Fi symbol is NOT showing for iOS devices:
· Go to 'Settings -> Wi-Fi' and select the ">" icon next to the network-name [SSID] that the device is paired with.
· Select the 'DNS' field and enter the IP address of your WAP|Router.
· Press the "< Wi-Fi" [back] symbol to apply the changes to the connection.
You will likely now see the Wi-Fi symbol in the top-left status-bar appear, next to the "iPhone"/"iPod"/"iPad" label.
Also, refer to When the Wi-Fi symbol is showing

When the Wi-Fi symbol is showing, but connection is intermittent
For Android and Windows 8/RT devices:
Reset|Forget the existing device WiFi settings; then re-pair with your wireless network using the applicable WiFi login credentials.

For iOS devices:
Go to 'Settings -> General -> Reset -> Reset Network Settings' and hit 'Reset'.
The device will reboot having cleared all WiFi profiles.
Go to 'Settings -> WiFi' and re-pair with your wireless network using the applicable WiFi login credentials.

When the Wi-Fi symbol is showing
For iOS, Android and Windows 8/RT:
Ensure that the Wi-Fi connection is paired with the Network that provides access to the AMX NetLinx master.

STEP 1
Can you ping the device from another networked computer|device?
eg 'ping -t ' from command prompt
NO: review your network settings and try again
YES: go to the next step
[Windows 8/RT may not return PING test results based on firewall|security settings]

STEP 2
On the device, can you browse to the NetLinx Master IP address?
e.g. using Safari|Chrome|Firefox|Internet Explorer, browse to the IP address of the NetLinx master
NO: try again from another network computer|device on the same network to ensure the NetLinx master is online
YES: go to the next step

STEP 3
Go to 'Settings' for TPControl and review the active profile configuration.
eg 'Manage Profiles -> Profile n' (where 'n' is active profile 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5):
· the 'Host' field must contain the IP address (or FQDN) of the NetLinx master
· the 'Port' field must contain the IP port assignment for ICSP, default 1319;
if 1319 is the correct port, the port might be blocked on the network by a firewall|network policy. Try 'telnet1319' from command prompt. If no connection formed, it is being blocked, therefore check details with your IT Administrator
· the 'Device ID' field must contain the unique AMX Device ID that has been implemented in the NetLinx code; entering the same 'Device ID' as another device that may be connected to the NetLinx master, will result in loss of connection for one or both devices. Ensure there are no conflicting AMX Device ID's with other devices that may be connecting to the AMX NetLinx system.
· Ensure 'ICSP Encryption' is configured correctly, relevant to the settings for the NetLinx master. If enabled on the NetLinx master, this option must be enabled in TPControl. TPControl will issue a warning when trying to connect to an ICSP Enabled NetLinx master, if TPControl does not have valid credentials to connect.
