Note: This guide is intended for iOS devices, where TPControl settings are accessed through the iOS Settings app.
For Android and Windows, settings are accessed within the TPControl app. If the app is force closing on launch for these platforms, settings may be inaccessible.
If you're experiencing issues where TPControl force closes on launch or displays a black screen, try the following options to recover or reset the UI file and resolve possible data corruption.
⚠️ Before You Begin
Make sure to record the TOKEN for the affected device. You may need it if TPControl needs to be reinstalled.
Tokens can be managed via: http://tpcloud.touchpanelcontrol.com
Available Options
Option 1: Reprocess the TP4 File
If the app launches but shows a black screen:
On the device, go to:
Settings > TPControl > Developer Settings > UI File OptionsEnable “Reprocess TP4 File”
Launch TPControl.
When prompted with “Settings were changed”, tap OK.
If the issue persists or the app crashes again, proceed to the next option.
Option 2: Clear the UI File
If you suspect the UI file is corrupted:
Go to:
Settings > TPControl > Developer SettingsEnable “Clear User Pages” — this will remove the UI file.
Ensure TPCloud Update is enabled in:
Settings > TPControlRelaunch TPControl.
When prompted with “Settings were changed”, tap OK.
If the device is configured in TPCloud, it will automatically download the necessary UI and settings.
If not, you'll need to manually reload the UI file using TPTransfer.
Option 3: Reinstall TPControl
If TPControl continues to crash on launch even after trying Options 1 and 2:
Uninstall TPControl from the device.
Reinstall TPControl from the App Store.
Use the previously recorded TOKEN to restore the UI and settings via TPCloud or TPTransfer.
